The critic said, " Darwin! you say mankind evolved from monkey race.
"What a great thing your own face is a proof of your theory!"

Darwin said, " true; I am very proud that I am the very proof to substantiate my own theory" 


See how effectively Darwin changed an adverse comment into a favorable one.
Darwin conveniently changed the frame of reference;
thus a criticism has become a compliment .

This is said as RE-FRAMING  in NLP.
